William Braswell has a Revolutionary War Memorial marker which was placed at his supposed burial site by the Crossnore Chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution in 1913 as documented in several texts and recorded in the NSSAR Patriot & Grave Record. That same record is the source of William's birth year, and corroborated by census analysis.

It is presumed William died between 1810 and 1820—in what was then Burke (now Avery) Co., NC.
