Interment will follow in the Providence Memorial Park Cemetery in Lake Providence, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Oak Grove.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lavelle Townsend; son, Monty Townsend; husband, Joseph E. Essex, Sr.; and parents, Virgil and Opal Warren.
