Sophia L. "Sophie" (Lewkowicz) MacDougall, of Melrose, died at her home on Oct. 30th 2004 at the age of 89. Sophie was born & raised in Detroit, MI and served as a Communications Specialist in the Women's Army Corps. in England during WWII. She was a Melrose resident and member of St. Mary's Church for over 50 years. Sophie worked as a Proof and Control Clerk at the Bank of New England, both in Boston & Malden for 20 years. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. MacDougall. Loving mother of Michael T. MacDougall & his wife Jerelyn of Malden, John S. MacDougall & his wife Michelle of Newburyport, Richard A. MacDougall & his spouse Ed, Dennis P. MacDougall & Bruce M. MacDougall, all of Melrose and the late Janice A. Rose. Cherished sister of Janc O'Leary & her husband Bud of MI, and the late John Lewkowicz. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday Nov 2nd at 9:30AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at10:30AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
