Obituary Bremerton Sun, May 8, 1978: Nellie Viola Churchill, 78, of 1003 Naval Ave., died Sunday at Port Orchard Convalescent Center. She was born in Cambridge, Nebraska on Dec. 20, 1899, and has been a resident of Bremerton since 1941, when she moved here from Nebraska. Her husband Rufus died earlier. She ws a homemaker and was active in the Salvation Army. She is survived by two daughters, Zelma Deal and Rayma Craven, both of Port Orchard, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Daughter of Harry H. Landon and Viola Nellie Still. Her mother died in childbirth so she was raised by her aunt and uncle, John and Nettie Decker of Cambridge. She married (1) Earl V. Johnson and (2) Rufus Churchill. See, "Landon Family History" by Joy Deal Lehmann, 1988.
