"Mrs. Ada B. Cameron, Another cloud of sadness has been cast over this community by the death of one of our most highly esteemed residents, Mrs. Ada B. Cameron. Ada B. Gillespie was born July 9, 1859 in Damascus, Placer county. Cal., and died in San Jose June 26, 1901, aged 41 years, 11 months and 17 days. She was married to William Cameron September 12. 1877, who. with an aged father and two children, Nannie and Alex Cameron, with other relatives and hosts of friends, are left to mourn her loss. The funeral services were held in Masonic Hall, and were conducted by Rev. Dr. Dinsmore, deceased having been a Presbyterian for many years, and at the grave the Order of the Eastern Star had charge of the services. The pallbearers were E. Topham, W. A. Parkhurst, Tyler Beach, W. Curtner, M. Miles and E. Conant, all old friends of the family. The large concourse of friends which gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased testified to the high esteem in which she was held. The remains were interred In Oak Hill. There were many beautiful floral pieces, the grave being entirely covered with these silent tokens The deepest and sincerest sympathy of this community goes out to the bereaved family in this their great affliction. A FRIEND."
