Dorothy M. Ireland (1927 - 2014)

WHITESBORO - Funeral services for Dorothy Marie Ireland, 86, will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Steve Miller and J. B. Hooper officiating. Interment will follow the services at Friendship Cemetery in Southmayd. Visitation services will be held at Meador Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m.

She passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at her residence in Whitesboro, Texas. Dorothy was born on June 25, 1927 in El Dorado, Okla. to Lee and Ocie Mae (Adams) Wilson. She married Baxter "Pete" Ireland on January 4, 1992. She was a long-time resident of Whitesboro. She was employed as a secretary at Eco Labs in Garland, Texas for 28 years. She was a member of Family Worship Center Church of Whitesboro.

She is remembered for her canned goods: jams, jellies, pickles and beets. She was loved by everyone who met her. Many people called her "Mom" or "Nannie".

She is survived by her husband, Pete Ireland; daughter, Bea Nauss, and husband, Jake, of Allen, Texas; son, James C. Pierce, and wife, Susie, of Irving, Texas; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; a brother, Curtis Wilson, and wife, Willie, of Sherman, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Ocie Mae Wilson; her husband, J. C. Pierce; her husband, Norman Miller; her daughter, Johnnie Dolezalek; brothers: T. H. Wilson and Jimmie Wilson; and sister, Thelma Hoover.

Pallbearers will be James Dolezalek, Jeremy Dolezalek, Mike Norman, Sammy Rains, Bobby Wilson, Richard Wilson, and Ted Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to God at your church, to a ministry which you support, or to Dottie's home church Family Worship Center, 110 Chestnut Street, Whitesboro, Texas 76273.
