Mr. Abercrombie worked in USL's maintenance department from 1956 to 1980. He was a USL graduate and served under Gen. Patton during World War II, holding the rank of captain. He will be remembered in Homer for his outstanding athletic abilities during his high school and college years.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Mouton Abercrombie; one son, David Drew Abercrombie of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister. Sybil Abercrombie Ferguson of Homer and a number of nieces and nephews.
