Ashtyn McCrae Baker, 19, of Fayette, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born October 25, 1994, in Wauseon, OH, to Dan and Kym Baker.
Ashtyn was a 2013 graduate of Fayette High School and had just completed her freshman year at the University of Toledo. She was a life-long resident of Fayette, a member of the I.G.N.I.T.E. Youth Group, and recently served as an assistant track coach for Fayette Schools. Family was Ashtyn's highest priority in her life, and she devoted much of her life to serving others. Ashtyn's honorable gift as an organ donor immediately benefited at least four other people with the gift of life.
Surviving are her parents, Dan and Kym of Fayette; her brother, Ethan at home; soul mate, Gabriel and grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Victor Garcia.
A memorial service for Ashtyn will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fayette Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Paul Baker officiating. Private interment will precede the service in the Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday afternoon, from 2-8 p.m. at the Fayette Church of the Nazarene.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette.
