John Crockett Fain, 66, of Radford, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and a veteran of the U. S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arnold Richard and Susan Sheppard Fain, a brother Edgar Fain, his son, Johnny and his father and mother-in-law, Carl Miller and Elizabeth Shelor.
Survivors include his wife, Carlene Shelor Fain; daughters and sons-in-law, Kris and Brad Monday of Radford, and Cindy and A. L. Stoots of Dublin; 7 grandchildren, Hanna (Calvin) Wall, Austin Evans, Kayla Evans, Bobby Bain, Noah Monday, Eli Monday and John Monday; great grandchildren, Connor Evans and Cameron Wall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Manuel and Linda Fain, and Fred and Brenda Fain, all of Blacksburg; sisters and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Bob Smith of Christiansburg, and Pat Sorrell of Chesterfield; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Kelly, Nurse Kay and all the staff at Carilion Family Medicine, Radford and the PCU staff at Carilion NRV Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 4:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home with Rev. Zane Cox officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc., 4502 Starkey Road SW #107, Roanoke, VA 24018 or the Building Fund at the Church of God of Prophecy, PO Box 3764, Radford, VA 24143.
