The Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs is in charge of arrangements for Roberta Jo Dillon Atwell, 83, of Ceres. She died January 8, 2011 at her home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Community Christian Church in Ceres.

Born November 5, 1927 in Modesto, Roberta attended Modesto High School and Modesto Junior College. She spent most of her life in Ceres. Mrs. Atwell was the mother of three and worked as a radiology technician at Modesto Radiology.

She leaves behind two sons, Jack Dillon of Lincoln, and Robert Dillon of Ceres; her stepson, Bill Atwell of Ceres; her sister, Peggy Hughes of Reno; and eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Dillon; husband, Harold Atwell; parents, Aaron and Margaret Shank; brother, Larry Shank; and sister, Fran Calpiers.
