George B. Barker, age 85, of Highland Street, East Rochester, died May 12, 2012 at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born April 6, 1927 in Lynn, MA, the son of George B. and Eva Maude (Doane) Barker, he resided in Middleton, NH for many years, resided in East Rochester for years, retired to Florida and returned to East Rochester.
Prior to retirement, he was employed as a Maintenance Foreman at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia and also had worked as Maintenance Supervisor at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro.
He is survived by his wife Joan (Pritchitt) Barker and their children, 4 sons: George B. Barker, Jr., Richard J. Barker, John A. Barker and Michael D. Petersen, 2 daughters: Donna and husband Michael Tarmey, Kathleen and husband Fred Allfrey, 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren, a brother Frank A. Barker, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Joanne Marie Barker and siblings: Claire Bonardi, Doris Melanson, James Barker and John "Jack" Barker.
There are no calling hours, family and friends are welcome to a Memorial Service on Wednesday May 23, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Middleton Gospel Chapel on King's Highway in Middleton, NH. Interment will be later at the Lovell Lake Cemetery in Sanbornville.
