Calvin E. "Bud" Beaman, age 69, of Troy died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at FirstHealth Hospice Palliative Care, Pinehurst.

Bud was born April 9, 1945 at Montgomery County, NC, the son of Myron Julian and Letha Mae Morton Beaman.

Bud was a member of Long Hill Baptist Church and attended Center Baptist Church. He loved his church family, his family and held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.

Bud retired from Capel, Inc with thirty years of service. After retirement he became a self-employed painter and carpenter. He loved woodworking with his hands and was an avid lover of baseball and collecting sports memorabilia.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years: Carolyn Diane Beaman of the home; one son: Phillip Beaman and wife, Angela of Troy; one daughter: Crystal Thomas and husband Gene of Troy; three grandchildren: Josh Beaman, Cayla Thomas and Haley Thomas; one brother: Bill Beaman of Troy.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Long Hill Baptist Church, 637 Capelsie Rd., Candor. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Mark Forrest and Rev. Gene Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Long Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Candor.
