Mackinaw, IL - Jacob P. Hilst, 82, of 304 Orchard St. died at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 1994, at Pekin Hospital.

Born Nov. 22, 1911, in Manito to John Peter and Anna Katherina "Katie" Hilst, he married Dorothy Tetmeyer in 1959 in Arkansas. She died in 1986.

Four brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Cinda Sue Hilst and Judith Pullium, both of Peoria, and Sharon Kay Hilst of Mackinaw; and one sister, Kathryn Abbott of Peoria.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

He worked in the research and development department at Caterpillar Inc. 26 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 974.

Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.
