Mrs. Caroline Banks, widow of James Banks and a resident of this city for over a quarter of a century, died in her home No. 1003 Harmony Street, Tuesday night at 11:10. She had been ill for several years with asthma.

Deceased was born in Staffordshire, England, May 9, 1839, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Allen Whitehouse, and came to Youngstown 27 years ago. She was united in marriage to James Banks in 1858 and who proceeded her in death 15 years ago. For the past 20 years Mrs. Banks has been one of the most earnest workers and devoted member of Primitive Methodist Church. She is survived by eight sons, Joseph of Niles, George, William, Samuel, Harry, of Youngstown, Albert of Cleveland, Thomas and Jerry of England. One granddaughter Mrs. Leah Rowe, who has made her home with Mrs. Banks since she was a baby, survived together with 30 other grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Primitive Methodist Church, with internment in Oak Hill Cemetery.
