Mr. Knott died Friday, Nov. 7, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Survivors include a son, Carlos Knott Jr. of Roanoke; four sisters, Romell Sherrill of Hickory, N.C., Annie Smith of West Point, Ga., Sara Harmon of Roanoke and Betty Vinson of Hollywood, Ala.; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Harvey Harmon, Steve Duncan Sr., Todd Sims, Bill Mabrey, Tim Gore and Roby Carden.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Knott was born April 15, 1930, son of George and Pearl Clark Knott. He had been employed with Handley Mills and was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Young Knott.
