MRS. D. R. VOYLES, 70, died at the Dooly County Hospital Sunday night at 8 o'clock. She had been ill for the past 9 weeks.
She was born in Banks County, GA, on December 6, 1879, a daughter of the late Philip Martin and Mary (should be: Nancy Ann) Ragsdale Martin. She had lived in Vienna for the past 37 years and leaves many friends who join with her family in sorrow at her passing.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Vienna Baptist Church with Rev. W. B. Hoats of Pinehurst officiating. The Peavy Quartet sang, "Precious Memories", "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be" and We'll Understand it Better By and By".
Burial was in the city cemetery with Akin Funeral Home in charge.
Surviving are her husband, D. R. Voyles; 2 sons, W. T. Voyles of Warner Robins and Freeman W. Voyles of Macon; 3 daughters, Mrs. Earl D. Daarud of Mandon, ND, Mrs. Robert Glenn of Avon Park, FL and Mrs. Frank Bowen of Pinehurst; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
