Elijah was baptized in the First Church of West Hartford 18 Dec 1715 (1). 27 Nov 1738, was given 180 acres of land in New Hartford by his father Lamrock Flower, for the love and affection that he had for his son (5-p3). 31 May 1739 he purchased 20 acres of land in New Hartford from Daniel Webster (5-p6) and on the same date witnessed a deed from Abram Merrell to Daniel Webster(5-p7). 12 Feb 1739/40 Elijah bought lot 145 in New Hartford from Abram Merrell (5-p14). 14 May 1742 Elijah Flower bought land in New Hartford from Henry Brace Jr (5-p67) and on 21 Jan 1743 Elijah sold this same land in New Hartford to Joshua Moses and Jonathan Merrell (5-p63). 9 Oct 1745 Elijah bought land in New Hartford from John Flower (5-p74). 29 April 1749 Elijah, Matthew Gillett and Consider Hopkins took the inventory of Eleazar Smith (3-p646). 24 Aug 1749 Elijah sold land in New Hartford to the heirs of Eleazar Smith (5-p128). 12 Sept 1749, Elijah was voted by the town to collect money for the new meeting how (6-p104). 18 Dec 1749 he attending the town meeting as a selectman (6-p105). 26 Oct 1751, Elijah and Abraham Kellogg purchased land in Barkhamsted from Timothy Waters (6-p374). 10 Dec 1751 Elijah was elected to the school committe (6-p 110). Around 1752 Elijah took the freemans oath in New Hartford (6-p41). 19 October 1752, he was appointed by the court to assist in the division of the estate of Thomas Bidwell (3-p501), and 26 Dec 1746 he and others took inventory of the estate of Adonijah Moody (3-p601). 19 Dec 1752 Elijah and others were sent by the town to Peletiah Mills and Timothy Skinner to ask them to make a return to the town regarding a new highway (6-p113). 21 May 1753 he bought Abraham Kellogg's land in Barkhamstead (4-p380). 19 Dec 1753 Elijah was one appointed to be a fence viewer and pound keeper (6-p115). In 1754-1768, Elijah was mentioned in a number of town meetings at New Hartford and recieved a number of commissions and offices (6).
The Flower Bible Records say that Elijah was appointed as an ensign of the train band in May 1762(1). It also says that he was an influential citizen who was frequently elected to office (2) 26 Oct 1762 Elijah Flower (then living in New Hartford) and Abraham Kellog bought land in Barkhamstead from Timothy Waters (4-p374). 15 April 1771 his widow Abigail was given permission to sell his Barkhamstead land to satisy his debts (4-p569).
