Blanche M. Cooney Dies

The requiem funeral mass for Miss Blanche M Cooney, who died in St Francis hospital in Peoria, January 27, was offered by Rev. Fr. Baldwin in Sacred Heart church in Peoria, Friday morning.

Internment was in St John's cemetery near Bradford where Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas J. Cleary conducted the Catholic ritual rites.

Pallbearers were John Blaisdell, Thomas Blaisdell, Jack O'Brien, nephews of the deceased and Loren Ferais of Peoria and Shaw Terwilliger of Rushville.

Miss Cooney, the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Maria Driscoll Cooney, was born in Henry June 17, 1886. When a child she moved with her parents from Henry to Tiskilwas, where she received her education in Tiskilwa schools.

Later the Cooney family moved to a farm north of Bradford and Miss Cooney was employed in the J.J. Owens store here until gong to Peoria, where she became a buyer of merchandise for women in the Clarke & Co., B&M and Peoria Dry Goods stores, leaving the latter a month before her death.

Miss Cooney exemplified all that was noble in Christian womanhood and endeared herself to relatives and friends in Bradford and community who mourn her death.

She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Ray Blaisdell of Bradford, Mrs Frank McNulty of Greybull, Wyo., Mrs. Walter Zerfas of Chicago and Mrs. Ralph Meyers of Creve Coeur.

A sister, Mrs. Daniel J. O'Brien of Peoria preceded her in death a year ago and a brother, James Cooney of Peoria, five years ago.

Relatives and friends from Chicago, Bradford, Tiskilwa, Wyoming, Moline and Peoria attended the funeral.
