EDNA AHLSCHWEDE
Nancy Edna Ahlschwede was born in Thayer County, Nebraska on November 24, 1879. She was the daughter of William C. and Laura Ann Lowry Samuell. She passed away in the Blue Valley Lutheran Home in Hebron on Monday, December 2, 1968, at the age of 89 years.
On May 30, 1906, she was united in marriage to William B. Ahlschwede. One daughter, Gertrude, was born to them.
She taught school in the Deshler community for several years.
They made their home in Thayer County until 1935, when they left for Appleton, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away July 13, 1944, and her daughter who passed away January 24, 1945, as well as her mother and father, two sisters and one brother.
She returned to Hebron about ten years ago, where she has resided in the Blue Valley Home most of the time.
Edna was a member of the Christian Church in Hebron.
She is survived by four sisters:
Mrs. J. E. Palmer of Hebron, Mrs. Lorenze Ahlschwede of Appleton, Wisc., Mrs. Chris Backer of Nampa, Idaho, and Mrs. Frank Stewart of Lexington, and many other relatives and friends.
