Sheridan Lord, 67, a landscape artist who lived and worked on the East End of Long Island, died of cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City.

Mr. Lord was born in New York and attended the Hotchkiss School, CT. He served in the US Army during WW II, and then earned a bachelor's degree at Yale University.

In 1951, Sheridan Lord moved to Springs, East Hampton, Long Island, where his friends included Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner, and Conrad Marca-Relli. Moving to Saganopack in the late 60s, he began to paint full-time, working outdoors.
Besides his landscapes, he is also well known for his still lifes.
