Tom never married, and a couple of the occupations he had had in his lifetime were: chauffeur & bartender
Tom died from throat cancer on May 21, 1967 at the age of 58, and is buried in Roslindale's Mt. Calvary Cemetery near his sister & brothers. Lot # C16-64-A
His sister Mary Cecile Reddy Mahoney's husband at one point in time purchased a number of plots in Roslindale's Mt Calvary Cemetery, and it is in one of these that Tom was laid to rest.
Many people who knew Uncle Tom said he was a kind & gentle soul. I personally as a little girl remember him, and thought he was too.
He suffered terribly through his illness, and when he came to visit my family in our home my dad would help him when he needed assistance when I don't think many people could have had the courage or fortitude to do so.
He gave my 2 sisters and me lovely sterling silver charm bracelets as gifts during a visit. For years afterward whenever I wore mine I'd think of my Uncle Tom, and him sitting at our kitchen table chatting and having a very nice time.
