William Barr, son of John Barr and his unknown first wife, was born about 1773 near Shippensburg in that part of Cumberland Co., PA that in 1784 became Franklin Co. His wife was Elizabeth Bell. He moved to Westmoreland Co., PA where he also had an uncle, Robert Barr (also buried in the Old Salem Church Cemetery). William died young in 1813. His widow remarried to Samuel Moorhead. In his will, the uncle Robert Barr left his estate to the children of his nephew, William Barr.
