SOUTH BEND - Gladys (Ewers) VanDeWalle of Winchester and Cape Cod, MA, formerly of South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2014. She was 96.

She was the beloved wife of the late Henry VanDeWalle, loving mother of Charlene Peterman, and her husband John of Winchester, and the late Ellen Richardson. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Marshall of MI, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Gladys traveled extensively with her family, was very creative making items for church bazaars and was very proud to have been Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. A memorial service will be held in her memory on May 31 at Sunnyside Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be at 10:00 followed by a service at 11:00. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of the North Shore of Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
