FAG Contributor has suggested burial in Elk, but I am not sure if he and his wife Zilpha are here or if John is in Elk and Zilpha is in Richland or another cemetery. June 2014.

John’s burial location is probably NOT in Vinton County, but in Belmont County, Ohio where his first son, James, is buried. The last US Census for him is 1870 where his residence is in Guernsey County, Ohio with his wife, Anna, and two kids, Elizabeth and John. Unfortunately, contributor cannot find an 1880 Census for John or Anna and none of the children have them in their 1880 Census either. Also, John had three wives:
Spouses:
Zilpha Hall (1801 – 1841), M; 2 FEB 1826
Children; I have them all except Charity Hartley (2 NOV 1827 - ??)
Sarah Sears (1810 – 1845), M; 29 MAR 1843
Children; Elizabeth Hartley (1844 – 1905)
Hannah “Anna” Williams (1804 – 1887), M; 3 JUN 1846
Children; John Wesley Hartley (1849 – 1917)
