She worked for the Ford Motor Co. in Ohio until his retirement in 1972. He had several odd jobs and spent much of his life farming and working construction. He came to the Grant County area in 1988. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Gas City. He was an avid mall walker.
Additional survivors include five children, Jesse Lee (Linda) Hollars, Diamond, Mo., Joe D. (Diane) Hollars and James E. (Linda) Hollars, both of Avon, Ohio, and Paul M. (Jackie) Hollars and Catherine Hollars, both of Marion.; sister, Margaret Loveless, New Mexico; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by brothers, Edgar, Earl, Cecil, Jesse and Harold Hollars; and sister, Nancy Denton.
