JOHN MEGETT LAID TO REST

Funeral services for Mr. John Meggitt (yes two different spelling of last name) who died suddenly on Thursday morning, June 5th at the age of 86 years, were held from the Knox United Church Castor, On Wednesday afternoon, June 11th at 2:00 pm Rev W. D. Race officiated.

Born 1855 at Holton, Mass, deceased went to Halifax, N.S. in his childhood. He spent his youth working with the railway crews laying steel for G.T.P. on the Prairies. He then farmed at Sussex, N.B. until 1902 when he moved to Beverley, Mass. In 1912 he came to Castor and resided here until his death.

Surviving relatives are seven daughters; Mrs Elizabeth Corbett of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs Alice McDonald of South Hamilton, Mass., Mrs Irene Ellsworth, of Winnipeg, Man., Mrs. Mary Hebb of Suffolk, Virginia, Mrs. Myrtle Clearwater, of Spokane, Wash., Mrs Ida Connors of Franklin, N.H. and Mrs. Hazel Watkins, of Winnipeg, Man., and 13 grandchildren.

Interment followed in the Castor Cemetery. A.H. Matthias had charge of funeral arrangements.

Pall bears were Messers. J. Parr, G.N. Davidson, W. Seth, P. Tomlinson, C Hubert, and F Heslop.
