Waynesville, Doris Bonds Jaynes, age 74, of Walnut Trail, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Maggie Valley Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.

A native of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Jimmie Lee and Hattie Belle Davis Bonds and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Bonds and Emily Fallaw and a niece, Bobbi Rae Fallaw. Doris was employed at Haywood Regional Medical Center as a CNA, and she was also a first responder for the Junaluska Fire Department. She loved crafting, especially ceramics, beadwork, and sewing.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Edson Jaynes; two daughters, Christy Waddell and her husband, Brian of Waynesville and Kim Longbons and her husband, Tracy, of Melbourne, Florida; a son, Mickey Jaynes and his wife, Wanda, of Waynesville; one brother, Joel Bonds and his wife, Nina, of Alabama; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Valentine and Reverend Matt Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery in Clyde.
