The body of First Lt. Myron A. Stone, who died in a German prison hospital Jan. 1, 1945, arrived in Rock Island early this morning and was taken to the Hodgson funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 Monday afternoon in the Fifteenth Avenue Christian church. The Rev. Noble Bollinger, former pastor there, will officiate. Assisting will be the Rev. Robert Furgeson, pastor, Gustaf C. Lannoo post, No. 1,303 Veterans of Foreign Wars, will conduct military rites at the graveside in Memorial Park cemetery, Rock Island.
Lieutenant Stone, a son of Mrs. E.M. Donlin, 1112 Thirty-seventh street, Rock Island, and Robert E. Stone Sr., Rock Island, was born in Rock Island Feb. 2, 1922. He received his education in the public schools, being graduated from Rock Island high school in 1944.
He enlisted in the air corps Aug. 28, 1942, at Camp Grant, Ill., and went overseas in June, 1944. For meritorious service he was awarded the air medal with 12 oak leaf clusters and nine battle stars. The pilot was shot down on Christmas day during 1944, during the Battle of the Bulge. He died a week later.
Survivors in addition to the parents are a stepfather, E.M. Dolin, of Rock Island; three brothers, R.D. Stone of Moline, William H. and Robert E. Stone Jr. of Rock Island; two sisters, Miss Eva Stone of Rock Island and Mrs. Myrtle Fisher of Milan; a half-brother, Richard Donlin, and a half-sister, Eva L. Donlin, both at home; a step-brother, Harry M. Donlin of Rock Island, and two step-sisters, Mrs. Frank Browder of Rock Island, and Mrs. Ralph Dickenson of Moline.

First Liutenant Myron A. Stone, a fighter pilot, has been missing in action over Belgium since Dec. 25, according to word from the war department received last night by his mother, Mrs. Edgar M. Donlin, 1112 Thirty-seventh street, Rock Island. The officer's father is Robert L. Stone, 2549 Thirty-second street, Rock Island.
The flier was promoted to first lieutenant last Dec. 6. In October he was awarded the Air Medal for meritorious achievment during bombing missions. He also has received two Oak Leaf clusters.
Lieutenant Stone, who went overseas in June, first was stationed at an air base in England and later was transferred to a base in France. Enlisting in the air corps in Febuary, 1942, he received early training at Sikeston, Mo., Independence, Kan., and San Antonio, Texas. He was commissioned in January, 1944, at Eagle Pass, Texas.
A graduate of Rock Island high school, he was employed by Birtman Electric company before entering service.
A brother, Corporal R.D. Stone, is in an army radar unit at Fort Sill, Okla., and a stepbrother, Private Harry Donlin, is with the Seventh army overseas.
