Jack Darrell Carter passed away June 18, 2004 in Chandler, Arizona. Jack was born December 7, 1918 in Santaquin, Utah to Austin and Margaret May Finch Carter.

He was raised in Santaquin and attended school in Payson.

He attended Utah State Agricultural College where he joined the Army ROTC and graduated with a degree in civil engineering. He was commissioned in the US Army upon graduation and served his country during WWII. He married Kathleen Ellen Preator on January 3, 1941.

He worked for the Bureau of Reclamation in Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Taiwan retiring after 36 years of service. He enjoyed singing, playing golf and keeping in touch with family and friends. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and tenderly helped care for his ailing wife until no longer able to do so because of his own failing health.

Jack is survived by his wife, Kathleen, and children, Margay Carter-Davies (Keith), Chandler, Arizona; Bruce F. Carter (Kathy), West Jordan; Celia Nase, Carson City, Nevada; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
