Shawnee resident Eva Aline Burks, 94, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, at her home.
She was born Dec. 13, 1911, to Thomas and Emma Torrince-Williams near Hugo.

On Oct. 7, 1928, she married Edgar Lee Burks, whom later passed April 16, 1974.

Eva was a member of the Shoals Baptist Church and was known to be an excellent cook and seamstress. She was a dedicated homemaker and also worked at the family farm near Grant.

She was a resident of Shawnee for the past twenty years.

Eva is also preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Survivors include her son and his wife, Floyd and Betty Burks of Shawnee; brother, Douglas Williams of Hugo; two sisters, Lois Nelson of Tyler, Texas, and Louise Kirkland of Casa Grande, Ariz.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Grant Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill Funeral Chapel.
