Born on Nov. 4, 1903, in Alfolkey, she was the daughter of Emanuel and Dorothea (Haase) Lutz. She married Elmer Bardell on Dec. 20, 1924, and he died on March 2, 1976.
She farmed with her husband in the Silver Creek and Dakota townships until retirement in 1964. During that time, she also worked at the Structo Manufacturing Co. in Freeport.
She was a member of Zion Church.
Surviving is one daughter, Violet (Mervin) Brinkmeier of Freeport; daughter-in-laws, Dolores Bardell of Cedarvile, Betty Bardell of Freeport, Joan Bardell of Pearl City, and Barbara Bardell LaTondra of Pecatonica; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six sons, one daughter, four brothers, and one sister.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Walker Mortuary, with Rev. Robert Schroeder of Zion Church officiating. Burial will be at the Gund Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon until the time of service Tuesday at Walker Mortuary. A memorial has been established in her name.
