Mr. McFarland, 82, of 1926 Fourth Ave. N.W., a retired Hormel employee, died Thursday (Feb. 12, 1998) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
He was born Nov. 16, 1915, in Wadena, Minn. On Sept. 18, 1943, he married Marie Hawkins at St. Olaf Parish. Mr. McFarland was a member of the Eagles, and 12th Armored Division, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include a brother, Noble of Exeland, Wis., and a sister Elizabeth Houdek of Cedar Falls, Iowa. A brother preceded him in death.
Friend may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin, and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
