BUHL – Henry J. Stiegemeier, 94, of Buhl, died at his home Wednesday.
He was born Nov. 30, 1897, in Harvard, Neb., to Herman and Lizette Merten Stiegemeier. He married Elsie Bieck on Aug. 23, 1923, in Harvard. They moved to Kimberly in 1940, and later moved to a farm northeast of Buhl in 1951. He retired from the farm and moved into Buhl in 1971. He loved carpentry work and was active with it up until his death. He was a member of ST. John's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by a son, Neil and Janice Stiegemeier; and a daughter-in-law, Melba Stiegemeier, all of Buhl; a sister, Martha Hobrock of Nebraska; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1960, a son, Keith; and eight brothers and sisters.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at St. John's Lutheran Church, with pastor Randal Benscoter officiating. Burial will follow at the West End Cemetery in Buhl. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl. Carl Dalos is in charge of memorial wreath.
