Serena's parents were Laban and Sophia Shipp Sebree. Francis or Fanny as she was called was born most likely in Woodford County, Kentucky and followed along with several of her sibblings to Missouri. Francis married Anderson Doniphan Edwards, July 17, 1842 in Clay County, Missouri. Anderson was the son of Rev. John and Narcissa Shipp Edwards. Francis's mother, Sophia and Narcissa were sisters. This would have made Francis and Anderson first cousins. They were blessed with four children, but Anderson died in 1850 leaving Francis with four small children. On February 2, 1853 in Clay County, Missouri Francis married James Breckenridge. They have six children, but again she is was left a widow in 1869.
Francis did not remarry and in her later years moved in with her daughters family.
