He was a retired press operator for True Temper Corp. with 42 years of service and a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 8129 and John Brawley American Legion Post 20. He attended Charleston Mountain Mission. Surviving: wife, Billie Aalto; daughters, Claudia Carney Jones and Ramona Aalto, of Charleston; nephews, Craig Cantley and Ty Cantley, of Charleston; niece, Jamie Hall of Charleston; grandson, Mark Jones of Charleston.
