Arrived at Castle Garden, NY, on Nov 26, 1853, at 42 yrs of age. He arrived under the name "Wenzel" on the ship "Patriot," along with his wife, Eleanora Sobolick Kopetova (born 1823 in Bohemia), age 29. After Eleanora's death, Wenzel married Roselia Maria Kalec (1844-1920) on July 24, 1876, at St Wenceslaus Church in Spillville, Iowa.
