John was born in Poland and had lived in Wyandotte County, Kansas, for 52 years. John and Edith were married June 16, 1924, in Kansas City, Kansas. There were the parents of four daughters: Genevieve, Josephine, Dorothy and Catherine. He had worked as a patrolman at the Wyandotte County Park since 1950. John had been treasurer of the Polish Political Club for 15 years and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
John passed away at his home in Wyandotte County. He lived with his wife, Edith, and daughter, Genevieve, at 323 North 55th Terrace. He also left daughters, Dorothy Kuklenski of Oxnard, Josephine Jaremko at 6038 Sloan and Katherine Locke at 5321 Roswell Avenue; his mother, Josephine Stypa, of 257 South Mill and his sister, Miss Sophia Stypa, of 265 South Mill, as well as 11 grandchildren. The Funeral Liturgy was celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
