Bud was born on April 21, 1921 in Nauvoo, IL the son of Harry and Dorothy Arletta Argast Covington. On August 15, 1941 he married E. Ruth Miller in Dallas City.
Mr. Covington was a WWII Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until being discharged in 1945. He attended Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL. He then worked for Scheaffer Eaton Textron in Fort Madison for 40 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Fort Madison Elks Lodge 374 and a member of the former Episcopal Church in Carthage, IL. Bud was an avid Cubs fan.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years and 9 months.
Bud was preceded in death by two daughters, Martha Jane and Pamela Ann Covington.
