Laura Belle Morgan Carpenter Babb

Mrs. Laura Belle Babb. 56, wife (of James Loraine Babb), East Liverpool, Ohio, Etruria St.. died today at 8:35 a. m. in City Hospital following several years’ illness. Mrs. Babb was born in Washington County and had lived in East Liverpool 30 years. She was employed as a dipper at the Hall China Co. about four years. She leaves a son, Glenn Carpenter of East Liverpool: a daughter, Mrs. Dora Mae VanHorn of Amherst: a step-son. Kenneth Babb of Richmond; a brother, Charles, (& sisters Daisy, Ethel & Elsie).

Mrs. Loraine Babb

Mrs. Laura Babb, 56, former resident of Marietta and wife of Loraine Babb, died Monday in a hospital in East Liverpool.
Born June 15, 1900, at Unionville, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Miller Morgan.
She was first married to Charles Lewis Carpenter who preceded her in death. Later she married Loraine Babb who survives.
Survivors are two children, Glenn Carpenter of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Dora Van Horn of Lorain; two grandchildren, Eddie Carpenter and Billy Van Horn; a brother, Charles Morgan of East Liverpool; and three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Woolly of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Ethel Muntz and Mrs. Elsie Moorse of Marietta. A brother, Roy Morgan, died three years ago.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at the Martin's Funeral Home in East Liverpool. Burial will be at Lorain.

Laura Bell Morgan, daughter of John Vincent Morgan & Frances Ellen Miller married Charles Lewis Carpenter on February 6, 1919 in Washington County Ohio. They had 2 children, Dora Mae and Glenn Earl Carpenter.
Charles died in 1929 while stationed at Jefferson, Montgomery, Kansas with the US Army, leaving Laura a widow with two small children.
Laura married James Lorraine Babb on February 6, 1935 in Hancok County, West Virginia, on what would have been her & Charles' 16th wedding anniversary. She died at 8:35 a.m. on April 29, 1957 at East Liverpool City Hospital, East Liverpool, Ohio, at the age of 56.
