Reuben G. Seastedt, 79, of near Galesburg died Saturday at 11:25PM, at his home.
He was born May 30th, 1888, in Galesburg and lived his entire life here. On June 20th, 1920 he married Lauretta Almquist at Chicago and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gary K, (Patricia Ann) Sparks of Peru; two sisters, Mrs. O.J. Erickson of Galesburg and Mrs. Edward Wilhemy of Sabula, Iowa, and one grandchild.
Mr. Seastedt was a member of the Emmanual Methodist Church, the Ralph M. Noble Post of the American Legion, 40 & 8, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
He was a veteran of World War I , private, Co. I. 21st Engineers ,he entered service June 24th, 1918 at Galesburg, and served overseas Sept. 1st ,1918, served in offensives at St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne, France, in service 359 days, discharged June 17th 1919. He was an engineer for the Burlington Railroad for 43 years,
retiring in 1953. he was also a member of the Burlington Veterans.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 pm at Hinchliff and Pearson Funeral Chapel, where visitation will be Tuesday evening. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
