Mary Lou Anderson, 82, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 20, 2014 at Marshall Nursing and Rehabilitation with her family by her side.Mary was born November 13, 1931 to Edwin and Wilma (Waidelich) Noneman at their old farm house in Marshall, MI. Mary attended Marshall Schools and she left school to help the family. Upon employment at the Knotty Pine Drive-in known now as the Hi-Lite, where she met her husband Omer Anderson. Mary and Omer were married on October 21, 1949 at the residence of Henry and Lorretta Nobbs. Mary went to work for Corning Glass in Albion, Michigan and upon completion of interstate 94 in the early 1960's Mary went to work for her parents at Noneman's Restaurant. Her other employment consisted of cooking at The Dug Out and Ken's Cafe. After Ken's Cafe, Mary went to work for the Lytech Corporation where she retired in 1993. Mary was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Marshall. Mary spent many a days at Bingo or playing cards with the family and friends. Her favorite card games were Canasta, Tunk, and Euchre. All at which she occasionally got caught cheating! Mary loved her children and she would do anything for them. Mary, Omer and children frequented the U.P. and loved going on vacation to visit family in Gladstone and Escanaba where Omer was from. Mary is survived by her siblings, Robert Noneman of Homer, Louie (Elaine) Noneman of Marshall, Judy Beardslee of Shelby Township, and Sharon (Ezra) Adkins of Marshall; children, Gary (Sandra) Anderson of Marshall, Debra (John) Caviness of Troy, Missouri, and Michele (Jeffery) Weaver of Marshall; grandchildren, Tyler Caviness and Kathy Ramo of St. Charles, Missouri, Jackie (Andrew) Darling of Marshall, Tiffany Caviness and Leonard Green of St. Louis, Missouri, Christopher (Tiffany) Anderson of Marshall, Matthew (Taylor) Weaver of Union City, and Cameron Weaver and Darian Hall of Marshall; five great grandchildren, Angela, Joshua, and Ben Darling, Colton Anderson, and Taysen Weaver whom she loved very much.Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Omer; parents, Edwin and Wilma Noneman; and great grandson, Weston Anderson. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home, 723 US 27 North, Marshall, Michigan. A funeral service to celebrate her life will take place on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral home with Pastor Dave Goldsmith officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall, Michigan. Following the burial the family would like to invite you back to the Kempf Funeral Home Reception Hall for a luncheon.
