"A LONG LIFE WELL SPENT

We are under obligations to Mr. Samuel Beeson, of Marshal (sic) county, Iowa, who is on a short visit to Columbiana county, for the facts that enable us to write the following brief sketch of one of Columbiana county's oldest and most respected residents:

The subject of our sketch and the mother of our informant, is a resident of Middleton, this township-Mrs. Ann Beeson, widow of the Hon. Richard Beeson, the first Representative of Columbiana county to the Ohio General Assembly, who represented the county in 1803 and 1804. Her maiden name was Oliphant. She was born in Loudon (sic) county, Virginia; October 11, 1785; moved with her parents to Ohio in the fall of 1801, and was married to Hon. Richard Beeson in 1804. She is the mother of eleven (sic 12) children, fifty-one grand children, fifty-six great grand children, and four great-great-grand children. She has already passed her 90th birth day, and has lived to see four of her fifth generation, (who in this country has lived to see more?) She has all her life been a devoted member of the Society of Friends and for seventy-three years has been a member and a regular attendant of the Middleton monthly meeting of this township. Notwithstanding her advanced age, she is seldom found absent from any of the regular meetings of the society of which she has for so long a period been an esteemed member. Truly hers has been a life long spent; and well may her sons and daughters point to her record with pride, as one worthy of imitation. May her remaining days be many and pleasant ones; and when her life shall have ended, it can truly be said, "well done thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joys of thy Lord."-COLUMBIANA REGISTER."
