H.H. Crampton was born in Miami County, Ohio, March 1st, 1843 and died of Typhoid fever in Reno Co., Kansas, Sept. 15, 1886. He was a hardworking, honest and energetic citizen. Funeral services were conducted by the writer, Sept. 16. The remains were followed to Asbury Cemetery by a large concourse of friends, and there laid to their last resting place. He leaves a wife, three children, four brothers, and a large circle of friends to mourn his loss, but not without hope, as he was an earnest Christian. Generous almost to a fault, so much so, it is said of him he never had known an enemy. In his death our church sustains the loss of one of its valued members, the community an honored citizen, the brothers a brother indeed, the children a kind and loving father, and the wife a true and affectionate husband.
