Adrianne was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as a baby. The disease made her physically weak and she struggled to keep weight on. She had difficulty eating because her body had trouble breaking down food. She lived in tremendous pain but didn't complain and didn't ask "why me." Instead, she focused on her goals and dreams. Because she spent so much time in hospitals over her lifetime, she wanted to, one day, help others like her.

"To be a nurse-anesthetist, that's still what I really want to be. I still have the dream and the hope to help someone like myself some day. I want to experience as much as I can." (KSHB-TV interview Jan. 2013)

Adrianne passed away at her home surrounded by people she loved. After many years of fiercely battling cystic fibrosis, God decided it was time for her to breathe easy.

She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas in 2008, where she was the football manager for four years and was voted "most inspirational" by her classmates. Following high school, she attended K-State and loved her Wildcats and all things purple. Adrianne was baptized at Christ the King and was a member or Cure of Ars. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Chief Patient Advocate for AudreySpirit, LLC.

More than anything, she cherished her family and enjoyed her role as "second Mom" to her spirited younger siblings.Grandfather: Willard Martin "Will" Shinn
