Mark Gregory Aanes, 45, died Jan. 9, 2006.

He was born June 21, 1960, in Butte, to Vincent G. and Joile (McIntosh) Aanes. He graduated from Butte High School and attended Montana State College in Bozeman. He adopted Billings and enjoyed his time working at Squires Lounge. He worked construction in both Butte and Billings.

Mark loved his time spent at Canyon Ferry Reservoir water skiing, floating and boating. He enjoyed motorcycles, trucks, hunting, shooting pool and having a good time with his friends and family. His favorite pastime was fishing. Mark had a talent of making one laugh. He was a fine son, brother and friend. He will be missed.

Survivors include his father, Jerry; brothers, Justin and Peter of Butte; sisters, Mary (Brian) Sawyer of Rapid City, S.D., Kirsten Aanes of Billings; very special friend, Kathy Anderson and her children, Felicia, Kayle, Payton, and her grandchildren; uncle, Dean (Jill) Aanes; and cousins, Joe, Steve and Karen.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joile; grandparents, Orrie and Arlene Aanes, Dortha and Ronald McIntosh and Alice McIntosh; and aunt, Kathy Aanes.

A gathering of his friends to celebrate Mark's life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Butte Elks Club.
