Clara Dorothea was born to William and Matilda Elizabeth (Glick) Krichbaum in Van Buren Township, Hancock County, Ohio on December 17, 1908. Clara’s mother, Matilda “Tillie” died of Tuberculosis on February 10, 1922 at the age of 40 when Clara was 13 years old. Tillie is buried in Trinity Cemetery, near Jenera. Clara became the mother of her siblings until her marriage to Walter Burkett in Jenera, Ohio on November 11, 1931. Clara’s father, William “Bill” died from injuries sustained when his car struck a bridge abutment three and a half miles south of Findlay on April 6, 1941 at the age of 70. Bill is buried in an unmarked grave in the Arlington Cemetery. Clara’s husband, Walter, died in Michigan on January 9, 1964 and is buried in Brookside Cemetery in West Branch, Michigan. Clara died in Michigan on February 16, 1990 and is buried in Brookside Cemetery in West Branch, Michigan beside her husband Walter. Clara gave birth to six daughters: Anna Louise, Ruth Pauline, Florence Jean, Betty Joan, Rosemary and Martha Lucille.
