Mr. Donnie R. McKinney, 64 of Commiskey, passed away May 28th, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Greenwood, with his family by his side.

He was born on July 5th, 1949 in Stanford, Kentucky, the son of the late George V. and Roberta (Nolan) McKinney.

Donnie graduated from Seymour Senior High, class of 1967. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, past Governor of the Moose Lodge #416, a 29 year member of the American Legion Post #89. He retired from Silgan Company in 2012 after 25 years as a utility specialist.

He enjoyed the outdoors, watching football, fishing, and gardening, country music especially George Jones. His greatest love was spending time with his family, being with his grandchildren and going to their sporting events.

On November 8, 1975, he married Ruth Ann Von Dielingen at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, four children: Kristi (Bill) Elkins, Todd (Jamie) McKinney, Carrie (Steve) Beineke and Kyle McKinney, brother: Rodger (Lynda) McKinney, 9 grandchildren: Brittani (TR) Montgomery, Bethani and Brianna Elkins, Keeegan, Zane, Ellie and Cooper Beineke, Claire and Ryan McKinney, three great grandchildren: Cole, Zoie and Lauren, several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
