Funeral services for Ruth Brown Elmore, 83, will be held at 4:00 pm Monday, June 2, 2014 at Mt. Elon Baptist Church.
The Rev. Rob Brazell will officiate with burial in Darlington Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Sunday at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Elmore, widow of Everette Kinsley Elmore, died Friday, May 30, 2014. Born in Darlington Co., SC, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Lentz and Thelma McKenzie Brown.
She was an active member of Mt. Elon Baptist Church and her church circle and she was also a former Girl Scout leader. She was retired from Roller Bearing Corp. She was a wonderful cook, the queen of dumplings. Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her daughters, Jean (Jerry) Skipper of W. Columbia, SC, Susan (Danny) Keith of Hartsville, SC, Donna (Danny) Lynch of Hartsville, SC; sons, Ken (Angie) Elmore of Mooresville, NC, Ronnie (Kim) Elmore of McBee, SC; grandchildren, Kip (Shelby) Skipper, Robyn (Garrett) Galloway, Sundee (Allan) Clonts, Kenny (Miranda) Elmore, Joseph O. Elmore, Joseph Elmore Jr., Brian (Amber) Lynch, Shelly Lynch, Russell Lynch, Channing (Jennifer) Lynch; 18 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Joe Brown; sister, Frances Brown.
