FIRST FAMILIES OF OHIO: William Allmon II has been recognized by the Ohio Genealogical Society First Families of Ohio as an early pioneer citizen of Ohio prior to 1820.

BERGHOLZ CEMETERY - Springfield Twp (Jefferson) Ohio. Near the old town of NEBO - now Bergholz. One acre of land donated by Thomas Peterson. Many of the earliest burials included both ALLMONS (James and John lines) and PETERSONS.

Following some known traditions of cemetery plantings, the Myrtle or Trailing Vinca was a land mark which aided in locating the burial ground high on the side of a wooded hill on the ALLMON Farm in Washington County, Pennsylvania. The ALLMONS, and those related, who came to Ohio in the early years, locating in Jefferson County, Ohio, also used plantings in a special way. Those buried in Bergholz Cemetery chose to mark each grave with a Yucca Plant which helped to identify Where the ALLMON family members were buried.
