Mountain climber. Dr. Chris Howard Chandler grew up in the Seattle area, and graduated from Foster High School in 1966. He graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a BA in chemistry and from the University of Washington as a medical doctor. He served his internship at Harlem Hospital in NYC. His medical field was Emergency Medicine. In October 1976, he led the American Bicentennial Expedition to the top of Mt. Everest. His final mountain climb on Mount Kanchenjunga was chronicled in Living on the Edge by his wife, Cherie Bremer-Kamp.
